Election Regulations
- Your campaigning can only begin 1 week before the voting starts, you can tell you friends but there must be no active campaigning prior to 1 week before the elections
- Any form of public address system is not permitted (Megaphone, group texts, group emails)
- You have 35 pounds that you can spend on your campaign. This is all that you are allowed to spend on your campaign!
- All receipts must be presented for election related expense
- Whatever you buy or use for your campaign you must show receipts for.
- The AU office, the General Managers office and the corridor outside the office are election free zones. No discussion of campaigns or any related materials are allowed in these zones
- There can be no negative campaigning towards any other candidates at all. This includes removing other posters by yourself or any of your campaign team, producing any sort of abusive or derogatory material about any other candidate (e-mails, texts, posters etc)
- Any election materials must be displayed in both Welsh and English
- No posters can be put up on the glass doors in Fulton house
- No campaign material is allowed in or in the vicinity of the Digital technium building or grounds (including the front steps and walls)
- No sweets or any similar materials may be given out on election campaigning. Badges are permitted
- No sellotape is allowed to secure posters where it will damage the integrity of the paintwork behind it
- Ten campaign t shirts are permitted per candidate which must all be clearly numbered between one and ten on the left hand sleeve
- Singleton Park is a campaign free zone
- No stickers are allowed on campus
- No social networking sites such as facebook/ bebo/ twitter/ myspace can be used to communicate for the means of election
- No campaign materials are permitted on the ground floor of fulton house
- Please respect the wishes of the porters and Swansea university staff
Election Days Regulations
- No campaign teams are allowed to campaign on the steps of, inside or out the very front of Fulton house.
- When voting or walking through or into Fulton house campaign teams must cover up all T-shirts, stickers etc
- Campaign teams cannot Cannot block off the pathways or walkways
- No flyering is permitted inside Fulton House
These regulations are important and breaking any of them will be dealt with very seriously to ensure a fair campaign.
