Swansea's very own baywatch, the lifesaving club train hard and compete at a high level. Even if you have never tried lifesaving before it doesn't matter, the skills learnt could be useful at some point.
What We Do
Swansea University Lifesaving Club run a variety of first-aid and water-based trainings. These teach you how to react to some of the most common medical emergencies - vital training that could literally mean the difference between life and death.
The club also regularly attends lifesaving competitions at other universities. These events provide an exhilarating way to practice your lifesaving skills by competing in a variety of events, including rope-throwing, swim and tow relays and a couple of "unseen incidents" (Where you treat simulated casualties).
Like most university clubs, the lifesaving club meet up regularly for social events. We sometimes go to JCs for a leisurely chat after training, but our social secretary has also got some wild nights out planned for the coming year.
